About
Hello my name is Lorraine and I’ve been running Ellie J Photography a newborn, child and family portrait business for over twelve years. I am a happily married mum of three, and photography is my lifelong passion. Having a photographer for a dad, I grew up with a camera firmly attached to my hand.
I am a qualified and experienced photographer based in Fillongley, Warwickshire. I have welcomed visitors from all over the UK, enjoying the perfect location right in the centre of England with easy access from the M42, M5, M1 and M6
Newborn safety during photography sessions is my number one priority and I have written and had articles published on this important subject. You can be assured I will always work safely with your precious baby.
Qualified with both the Guild of Professional Photographers and the British Institute of Professional Photography, I regularly update my skills by attending seminars and workshops. I am very fortunate to have been tutored and mentored by some amazing photographers including world renowned celebrity newborn photographer Ana Brandt and the amazing Glyn Dewis, who is part of Photoshop’s World Dream Team of instructors.
Your photography session with me will be relaxed, friendly and never hurried. I learnt a long time ago that trying to force a child to perform for the camera within a set time frame just doesn’t work; relaxed, happy clients make beautiful, timeless portraits. With a newborn session I will always work around your baby’s needs, feeds and nappy changes while you watch me work from the comfort of my studio sofa.
If you think I could be the photographer for you please visit my website, read the testimonials left by my wonderful clients and get in touch. I would love to meet you!
Thanks for reading,
Lorraine.
Safety
I have undertaken newborn photography training with 2015 Newborn Photographer of the year Rob Mank, Master Craftsman and leading UK newborn and child photography trainer Claire Elliott and world renowned celebrity newborn photographer Ana Brandt. Before setting up my business full time I worked in Health and Safety and I absolutely understand the importance of safe practice. I have written and had articles published on the subject of safe practice during newborn photography sessions. Safety measures I will use during a session include using composite imagery as required (eg when photographing a baby in certain poses, with the family dog or with an older sibling who may yet be too young to ensure 100% safety). I've worked with newborns for over twelve years now, (plus I've had three of my own!) so I know lots of tips and tricks to help settle baby and ensure they are as comfortable as possible during a session. Any props used are thoroughly cleaned after each session and blanket backdrops, wraps and other materials used washed.
From a technical point of view, I have qualified as a photographer with the British Institute of Professional Photography and the Guild of Professional Photographers.
